Brian McFadden Responds After Ex-Wife Vogue Williams Criticizes Wedding Snub

Former Westlife singer Brian McFadden has responded to criticism from his ex-wife Vogue Williams after she revealed she was upset about not being invited to his wedding to Danielle Parkinson.

Speaking in a recent interview with The Sun, McFadden explained that he no longer keeps in regular contact with either of his former wives and does not believe inviting an ex-spouse to a new wedding is something that should normally be expected.

The Irish singer said he and Williams had already stopped speaking long before his latest marriage. Both have moved on, remarried and built separate families, he noted, making continued communication unnecessary from his point of view.

McFadden also said the same largely applies to his first wife, Kerry Katona, now that their two daughters are adults.

Brian McFadden Defends Decision Not to Invite Vogue Williams

The wedding invitation became a talking point after Williams discussed the situation on her My Therapist Ghosted Me podcast earlier this year.

Williams said she considered McFadden’s decision not to invite her to the ceremony rude and suggested it was one of the reasons the former couple no longer communicate.

She also joked about how she would have behaved at the celebration, saying she could have accompanied her former husband down the aisle before handing him over to his new bride.

McFadden has now made clear that he sees the situation differently.

The singer questioned why former spouses would be expected to attend each other’s weddings after moving on with new partners and families. He also emphasized that his wedding to Parkinson was intentionally kept small, meaning several friends were not included on the guest list either.

Brian McFadden Married Danielle Parkinson in Cornwall

McFadden and Danielle Parkinson married on July 5, 2025, in an intimate ceremony at Lusty Glaze Beach in Newquay, Cornwall.

The couple exchanged vows on the beach surrounded by close friends and relatives before continuing the celebration at the venue overlooking the sea.

McFadden’s daughters Molly and Lilly, whom he shares with Kerry Katona, attended the wedding. His daughter Ruby, whom he shares with Parkinson, was also part of the family celebration.

McFadden and Parkinson met in 2016 and became engaged in 2019. Their wedding plans were delayed during the Covid-19 pandemic before the couple eventually tied the knot after years together.

They welcomed daughter Ruby in May 2021.

Vogue Williams Previously Shared Her Frustration

Williams, who was married to McFadden after his relationship with Katona ended, has spoken openly about their past in recent years.

The television presenter married McFadden in Florence, Italy, in 2012. The couple separated in 2015 before formally ending their marriage.

Williams later married television personality and businessman Spencer Matthews in 2018. They have since built a family together and now share four children.

Despite having moved on personally, Williams made it clear during her podcast discussion that she had expected to receive an invitation to McFadden’s latest wedding.

McFadden, however, said their lives have been separate for years and he sees little reason for former partners to remain in contact when there are no practical reasons for doing so.

McFadden also addressed his relationship with first wife Kerry Katona.

The former couple married in 2002 and share daughters Molly and Lilly. Their marriage ended several years later.

McFadden explained that when their daughters were younger, there was an obvious reason for the former couple to remain in communication. Now that both women are adults, however, he said there is much less need for regular contact.

He suggested that major family milestones, including the future weddings of their daughters, could eventually bring him and Katona together again.

Katona, meanwhile, has publicly expressed warm feelings toward Parkinson.

After McFadden’s 2025 wedding, Katona revealed that she had contacted Parkinson and wished the newlyweds well. She has also praised her former husband’s new wife and spoken positively about her relationship with the family.

Born in Ireland in 1980, Brian McFadden rose to international fame as one of the original members of Westlife.

The group became one of the most successful pop acts of the late 1990s and early 2000s, known for hit ballads including My Love, Swear It Again, If I Let You Go and I Lay My Love on You.

McFadden left Westlife in 2004 while the band was still enjoying major international success. At the time, he said he wanted to devote more time to his family.

He later pursued a solo music career and expanded into television and other entertainment projects.

More recently, McFadden has performed alongside former Boyzone singer Keith Duffy as part of Boyzlife, bringing songs associated with both groups back to audiences in the UK and Ireland.

While his relationship with his former wives continues to attract occasional public attention, McFadden says his focus is now firmly on his life with Parkinson and their family.
