Kim Kardashian and Kanye West Support North at Her First Solo Concert

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West put their differences aside to support their daughter North West as the 13-year-old performed her first solo concert in Chicago on September 5.

Both parents were spotted inside The Vic Theatre for North’s sold-out show, according to videos shared by concertgoers on Instagram. Although Kardashian and West attended the same event, they reportedly watched the performance from separate sides of the VIP balcony.

The former couple appeared proud as North took over the stage and performed songs from her EP NOrth4evr. Her set also included an unreleased track featuring a sample from her father’s song Coldest Winter.

Kanye West, 49, was seen moving along to the music while recording parts of his daughter’s performance on his phone.

Kim Kardashian, 45, was also visibly enthusiastic during the concert. Videos showed the SKIMS founder smiling and pointing toward North as she performed onstage.

Kardashian later shared several clips from the show on her Instagram Stories, including footage of the crowd cheering loudly for her daughter.

For her first solo concert, North kept the stage production relatively simple instead of relying on a large group of backup dancers.

The young performer remained at the center of the show, incorporating robot-inspired dance moves into her performance while swinging her long turquoise hair across the stage. Two supporting dancers joined her for several synchronized routines.

Footage shared on TikTok later showed Kanye leaving the venue with security guards as fans gathered around him after the concert.

North West Takes a Major Step in Her Music Career

The Chicago performance represents another important milestone in North West’s growing career in music.

The teenager has been surrounded by music and entertainment from an early age and has gradually built up her own experience as a performer.

When she was six years old, North appeared onstage and rapped during one of Kanye West’s Yeezy fashion shows in Paris.

In May 2024, she performed I Just Can’t Wait to Be King during a live production at the Hollywood Bowl.

More recently, North has shared the stage with her father. In April, she and Kanye performed their collaborations Talking and Piercing on My Hand during his concert at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles.

Just days after releasing the NOrth4evr EP, North also appeared alongside rapper Molly Santana at the Rolling Loud festival in Orlando on May 9.

Her sold-out show at The Vic, however, marked a significant new chapter as she stepped into the spotlight for her first solo concert.

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West Spend Time in Chicago

While both stars traveled to Chicago to support their daughter, they also had separate commitments in the city.

Kardashian visited the flagship SKIMS store in Chicago’s Gold Coast neighborhood. She later posted several Instagram photos of herself posing alongside mannequins inside the store.

Kanye West was also busy with his own music schedule.

According to Billboard, the Gold Digger rapper performed at Chicago’s Soldier Field on Thursday and Friday, with guests including Common, Travis Scott and Lupe Fiasco.

Chicago holds special significance for West. The rapper grew up in the city and later named his third child, Chicago West, after his hometown.

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West Continue Co-Parenting Their Four Children

Kardashian filed for divorce from West in February 2021 after nearly seven years of marriage.

Although their relationship initially appeared relatively amicable following the split, tensions later became public as the former couple disagreed over several issues involving their children.

Their divorce was finalized in November 2022 after they reached an agreement outside court.

The former couple share four children: North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm. Kardashian has continued to handle much of their day-to-day care, while both parents remain involved in their children’s lives.

West later married Bianca Censori in December 2022.

Despite their complicated history, Kardashian and West have both appeared at important events involving their children over the years.

North’s first solo concert provided another example, with both parents showing up in Chicago to support their eldest daughter as she reached a new milestone in her developing music career.

With a newly released EP, festival appearances and now a sold-out solo show, North West appears to be steadily establishing her own place in the entertainment industry while following in the musical footsteps of her father.
